Hematite is a mineral, colored black to steel or silver-gray, brown to reddish brown, or red. It is mined as the main ore of iron.
Hematite, also spelled Haematite, is the mineral form of Iron Oxide.

The name hematite is derived from the Greek word for blood αἷμα haima because hematite can be red, as in rouge, a powdered form of hematite. The color of hematite lends it well in use as a pigment. The English name of the stone is derived from Middle French: Hématite Pierre, which was imported from Latin: Lapis Hæmatites, which originated from Ancient Greek: αἱματίτης λίθος (haimatitēs lithos, “blood-red stone”).

Dissolves negativity and prevents you from absorbing the negativity of others.  Haematite is strong, supporting timidity, boosting self-esteem and survivability, enhancing willpower and reliability, and imparting confidenceHaematite restores, strengthens and regulates the blood supply, aiding blood conditions such as anaemia.  It supports the kidneys and regenerates tissue.  Stimulates the absorption of iron and formation of red blood cells.

Already in ancient Egypt and Babylon hematite was used as jewelry and amulets in the form of small statues of gods or gems.

The ancient Egyptians placed hematite objects inside their tombs.

Be careful about exposing jewelry to chemicals. Spraying perfume while you're wearing your necklace can cause considerable damage to them over time. You must also avoid spilling any liquid on them.

Cleaning should always be done with a fine and clean cloth after each wear. Since the material is glass it should possibly be kept seperate from other jewelry so it doesn't get scratched.
